TAURON Dystrybucja S.A., part of Poland’s TAURON Group and serving some 4.1 million customers across a 57,000 km² distribution area, needed more accurate monthly energy-supply forecasts. The company’s forecasting tasks—covering multiple voltage levels, contractual power amounts and a wide geographic area—had outgrown ad‑hoc Microsoft Office tools and required a more robust analytics solution.

TAURON implemented STATISTICA Data Miner and received four days of tailored training on forecasting, statistical methods and classification techniques (including customer segmentation). The new approach produced faster, more accurate forecasts than the previous spreadsheet-based methods, delivered measurable improvements in planning, and validated the software investment.
