TATA STEEL - Customer Case Study

Tata Steel, founded in 1907 and one of the world’s top ten steel producers with a crude steel capacity of over 28 mtpa and operations in 26 countries, sought to advance its two-decade TQM journey by improving statistical capability. The company needed a user‑friendly, customized DMAIC toolbar to expand use of advanced tools—DOE, multivariate analysis, reliability—and to add control‑chart abnormality analysis and data transformation features to handle varied data types.

StatSoft India, a long‑time STATISTICA partner, collaborated with Tata Steel through successive meetings to define toolbar design, algorithms, timelines and commercial terms, and delivered customized training to build user competency. The tailored DMAIC toolbar was completed on schedule, met Tata Steel’s requirements, and earned their satisfaction, with both parties looking forward to a continuing partnership.
