A cross-functional team used Steelcase’s Process Qualification method with STATISTICA Enterprise-wide SPC System (SEWSS) for data collection and STATISTICA analysis (ANOVA, box plots) to identify and correct sources of variation. The effort cut average millage on one powder line by 40%, dramatically reduced variation, and delivered material savings in year one of more than three times the SEWSS investment; the company continues rolling out SEWSS and SPC training.
