Czech Insurers Bureau engaged TIBCO Statistica to strengthen risk management by tackling the large volume of unstructured text in insurance claims and accident reports. The primary challenge was identifying which claims were most likely to incur the largest costs and predicting serious medical claims earlier in the investigation process.

Using Statistica Data Miner and Text Miner to analyze free-text reports, the bureau exposed additional risk characteristics that were previously hidden, allowing earlier identification of high-cost and serious medical claims. The solution improved prioritization of investigations and enabled more proactive, data-driven risk management.
