ALSTOM Power Elblag Sp. z o.o., a leading manufacturer of turbine castings producing over 400 tons per month, faced intense global competition and a 50% drop in casting prices over five years. To stay in the market it needed to control costs and delivery times without compromising quality, while managing complex production data—each cast generates several hundred measurement records.

The company deployed STATISTICA Enterprise-wide SPC System (SEWSS), used by about 30 operators and many managers, to automate data capture into an Oracle database across the entire process (raw materials, moulding sand, furnace charge, melt composition, heat treatment, dimensional checks, etc.). SEWSS’s analytics, alarms and interactive queries improved supplier monitoring, process control and production optimization, helping ALSTOM maintain consistent quality under tight cost and delivery pressures.
