Veeam gets Shared storage for VMware with Disaster Recovery Features

Veeam, a Columbus-based VMware-focused software company, needed affordable, scalable shared storage to support high availability and disaster recovery across its U.S. and European sites. Its servers were using direct-attached storage that made HA clustering, rapid recovery, and centralized management difficult, and traditional Fibre Channel SANs were costly and complex to manage.

Veeam deployed StarWind Virtual SAN on repurposed Dell PowerEdge servers over the existing Ethernet network, enabling local asynchronous mirroring and WAN remote replication for DR. The solution installed in under 30 minutes, cut storage costs to about 50% of the next competitor, and delivered business continuity, centralized management, rapid deployment, and ease of use.
