Case Study: SUD THD achieves fault tolerance and high availability with StarWind Software's vSAN

A StarWind Software Case Study

Preview of the SUD THD Case Study

SUD THD moves on to the next stage of its fiber-optic network creation project by adopting hyperconvergence with StarWind vSAN

SUD THD is a government agency in southern France building the region’s main fiber‑optic network. Its IT originally ran on a single Hyper‑V server with local storage, leaving no fault tolerance or high availability and with the hardware nearing end‑of‑life, so the team set out to build a hyperconverged, HA solution without a single point of failure.

They chose StarWind vSAN paired with two Dell PowerEdge R740xd servers running VMware vSphere as a cost‑effective, fast‑to‑deploy shared storage layer. The old server was repurposed as an immutable Veeam repository, StarWind support aided the in‑house rollout, and the result delivered FT and HA, eliminated the SPOF, and reduced software acquisition and ongoing support costs.
