Case Study: VISMA achieves boosted storage performance and streamlined maintenance with StarWind Software's Virtual SAN

A StarWind Software Case Study

Preview of the Visma Case Study

StarWind Virtual SAN improved the overall system maintenance in Visma due to its approach to L1 and L2 caches

VISMA is a leading European provider of business-process automation software across five business areas, with more than 15 years in the market. Its infrastructure (POC, home lab and test environments across 10 ESXi and Hyper‑V hosts) needed more features than the native Windows Server iSCSI target role offered and sought improved performance through better cache-based handling of disk requests.

Visma deployed StarWind Virtual SAN, which uses RAM as an L1 cache (recommended write‑back) and flash as an L2 cache (recommended write‑through) and integrates easily with Windows Server and VMware vSphere. The change boosted overall system performance and simplified maintenance—improving troubleshooting, system control and support.
