A StarWind Software Case Study
Poquoson City Public Schools, a Virginia K–12 district serving four schools across split campuses, needed a cost‑effective, scalable high‑availability storage solution to replace aging SAN hardware on a tight budget. The district’s network specialist sought a redundant virtualized infrastructure for servers and storage that was easy to manage and deploy, but found traditional vendor options overly expensive and inflexible.
Working with Ace Computers and Aprisa Technology, PCPS implemented StarWind Virtual SAN to create fully redundant Windows Hyper‑V clusters with redundant StarWind nodes (4 virtual hosts and 4 SAN nodes of 16 TB each across campuses). The solution delivered a fully redundant HA SAN at a lower cost than a single hardware SAN, while improving scalability, ease of deployment and configuration, and application and data availability.
