A StarWind Software Case Study
SSTL Group, a Dar es Salaam–based security systems installer and integrator established in 1994, needed shared storage and failover capabilities for its Hyper‑V–based infrastructure spread across several government buildings. Purchasing additional servers for a traditional shared-storage setup was prohibitively expensive, so the company sought a cost‑effective way to ensure application availability and minimize downtime.
On Bosch's recommendation SSTL deployed StarWind Virtual SAN (VSAN), a hardware‑agnostic solution that mirrors disks and flash between hypervisor hosts to create a failover cluster. The VSAN delivered the required high availability and eliminated planned hardware purchases, reducing downtime and saving the company the expense of buying extra servers.
