Case Study: Slovenian Sovereign Holding achieves zero RPO/RTO and 24/7 high availability with StarWind Software's Virtual SAN (VSAN)

A StarWind Software Case Study

Preview of the Slovenian Sovereign Holding Case Study

Slovenian Sovereign Holding (SSH) gets a highly available and fault-tolerant clustered environment with StarWind Virtual SAN (VSAN)

Slovenian Sovereign Holding (SSH) is a state‑owned company in Ljubljana that manages the state’s ownership interests in 65 companies. SSH’s IT ran on three physical servers hosting about 20 VMs without shared storage or clustering, leaving the environment vulnerable to hardware/software failures and unable to meet strict RPO/RTO or business continuity requirements; relying on backups and manual scripts created additional operational risk.

SSH deployed StarWind Virtual SAN to create a hyperconverged, stretched active‑active cluster with synchronous replication to a disaster‑recovery site, enabling VM live migration and fault tolerance without changing existing hardware. The result was 24/7 high availability, RPO/RTO effectively reduced to zero (the two‑node setup tolerates one disk and one node failure), improved uptime for mission‑critical applications, and strong price‑performance value.
