A StarWind Software Case Study
Red Road Networks LLC, an Albuquerque-based IT managed service provider specializing in security and disaster recovery for SMBs, was operating on a single Hyper-V host with direct-attached storage and needed to improve uptime for round-the-clock service. The company wanted redundancy to reduce planned and unplanned outages but could not justify the cost of a traditional SAN.
Red Road deployed StarWind vSAN to build a 2-node Hyper-V failover cluster using two Dell EMC PowerEdge T440 servers with dual 10Gb NICs over DACs, creating a clustered, fault-tolerant environment. The solution delivered near-zero downtime, saved roughly $10K compared with buying a redundant SAN, and was implemented with strong support from the StarWind team.
