Case Study: PF Software Inc. achieves 24/7 business operations with StarWind Software's Virtual SAN (vSAN)

A StarWind Software Case Study

Preview of the PF Software Inc Case Study

PF Software Inc. achieves 24/7 business operations by building a hyperconverged infrastructure powered by StarWind Virtual SAN (vSAN)

PF Software Inc., a Canadian cloud services provider based in Burlington, Ontario, needed virtual shared storage to achieve high availability (HA). The client’s bulky physical server IT infrastructure lacked HA; Microsoft Storage Spaces Direct (S2D) was considered but would have required the Datacenter edition of Windows Server and significantly increased licensing costs.

Using StarWind Virtual SAN (vSAN), PF Software Inc. replaced the client’s old multi-server solution with a single HA 2-node failover cluster running virtualized workloads. StarWind vSAN was few grand cheaper than Microsoft S2D, resulting in a fully redundant Hyper-V cluster that meets client requirements, enables 24/7 business operations, and is likely to be used by PF Software Inc. in future HA projects.
