Permolex Ltd. builds a fault-tolerant cluster environment with the help of StarWind

Permolex Ltd., a Canadian manufacturer of ethanol, gluten and flour products, relied on a standalone Windows Small Business Server 2008 that met most needs but offered no fault tolerance. Because the business runs 24/7, any downtime would risk production data and reputation, and options like Microsoft's Storage Spaces Direct were dismissed during their search for a shared-storage clustering solution.

Permolex implemented StarWind Virtual SAN to build a 2-node failover cluster using local shared storage and synchronous replication. With StarWind and its support, both servers remain fully synchronized so maintenance and updates can occur without service interruption, eliminating downtime and improving overall reliability.
