A StarWind Software Case Study
Město Přeštice, the local self-government body in the Czech Republic, was running a severely outdated IT environment with unsupported storage, frequent performance issues and an obligation to provide stable, secure services to residents. The city looked at alternatives like HP Store Virtual VSA but found them too costly and difficult to manage.
By installing StarWind Virtual SAN on its existing nodes, Přeštice created a two-node, fault-tolerant storage pool without buying new shared hardware; StarWind’s licensing, built-in mirroring, cloud capacity and free deployment services removed the need for witnesses or expensive upgrades. The result was steady uptime, improved performance and full redundancy at a much lower cost—CIO Josef Kasl says everything now works smoothly and they plan to expand capacity.
