IBAR Systemtechnik GmbH, an office-automation engineering firm, needed a high-speed, highly available central datastore for its Hyper‑V virtualized Windows Server environment. Their previous DFS Replication approach only synced changes and could not meet performance or full-block replication needs, so they sought a two-node HA cluster and decided against a hardware SAN in favor of a virtual SAN.
