Case Study: GCL Diesel achieves cost-effective two-node failover clustering with StarWind Software

A StarWind Software Case Study

Preview of the GCL Diesel Case Study

GCL Diesel creates the failover cluster exactly for their budget with StarWind

GCL Diesel is a Canadian distributor and service center for diesel products with over 40 years in business. The company was running non-redundant Windows 2003 servers with localized storage and needed a failover solution, but a physical SAN and full redundant server infrastructure were too costly for its budget.

GCL Diesel implemented StarWind VSAN to build a two-node failover cluster, delivering fault tolerance and performance within budget. The deployment resolved failover concerns, and StarWind’s remote support quickly restored clustered storage after a power/UPS failure with minimal downtime; GCL Diesel now plans future two-node HA hardware deployments.
