A StarWind Software Case Study
Fitzstone Limited, the IT support arm for the Fitzwilliam, Stone, Furness‑Smith & Morgan law firm in Trinidad and Tobago, faced an aging virtualization environment built around a single SAN that created an “Inverted Pyramid of Doom” and a single point of failure. The firm needed a cost‑effective shared storage solution to enable a true failover cluster and ensure business continuity but rejected alternatives like VMware vSAN for their price and licensing complexity.
They deployed StarWind Virtual SAN, using existing hardware to build a redundant cluster that eliminated the SPOF and delivered fault tolerance, high availability and scalable storage and compute. StarWind proved more affordable, supported both ESXi and Hyper‑V, simplified licensing for quorum, and continues to run reliably while receiving ongoing feature updates.
