The Eurasian Patent Organization (EAPO), an intergovernmental licensing and patenting body, migrated to Microsoft Hyper-V to address limited disk space, cooling/budget constraints and aging hardware, ending up with three clusters and over 30 VMs. Their existing backup software was slow, lacked incremental backups, and didn’t suit a virtual environment, so IT needed an affordable, reliable Hyper-V–focused solution with simple management and fast restores.
