Case Study: Electronics Box achieves full redundancy and high availability with StarWind Virtual SAN (StarWind Software)

Electronics Box brings stretched clustering to its IT infrastructure with StarWind Virtual SAN (VSAN)

Electronics Box, a Lodz-based supplier and installer of burglary and fire alarm systems that also runs an alarm monitoring central station, faced a critical infrastructure challenge: its 2-node Windows Server Failover Cluster relied on a single SAN, creating a single point of failure for storage. Because even a minute of interruption in signal reception or processing could be disastrous, the company needed a simple, cost-effective shared storage solution to build a fault-tolerant stretched cluster and ensure continuous operation.

The company deployed StarWind Virtual SAN (VSAN) to create a stretched, active-passive replicated storage cluster across multiple locations. StarWind’s Live Migration and replicated shared storage eliminated the single point of failure, enabling automatic VM replication to another site, delivering full redundancy, high availability and uninterrupted operation of the alarm monitoring central station.
