Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand solves its storage resource problem and achieves a required performance level with the help of StarWind

The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), the country’s state-owned power utility, was running a Windows Server environment with Hyper-V but faced subpar storage performance and needed to scale capacity to improve uptime. A traditional SAN was not acceptable — EGAT required a hardware-agnostic, Microsoft-compatible software-defined storage solution.

EGAT deployed StarWind Virtual SAN, a Windows-native VSAN that integrated with their existing servers with minimal configuration. The implementation delivered the required performance and higher availability while significantly reducing downtime during maintenance, allowing the utility to scale storage without replacing hardware.
