Case Study: Benny D’Angelo Transport achieves a fault-tolerant Hyper-V cluster and continuous uptime with StarWind Software's VSAN

A StarWind Software Case Study

Preview of the Benny D’Angelo Case Study

Benny D’Angelo Transport finally unites its 10 standalone servers into a single fault-tolerant cluster with StarWind Virtual SAN (VSAN)

Benny D’Angelo Transport is a family-owned refrigerated carrier in St‑Rémi, Québec, operating since 1998 with about 50 employees and a 40,000 sq. ft. facility. Its IT environment consisted of 10 standalone servers across three hypervisors, and a QNAP NAS used for shared storage became a single point of failure — crashing repeatedly, causing severe downtime, degraded performance and lost revenue.

StarWind Virtual SAN was deployed to pool the existing servers into a single fault-tolerant Hyper‑V cluster. Using deduplication, compression, automated tiering and asynchronous replication, VSAN removed the SPOF, improved performance, provided failover and data protection, and delivered a cost‑efficient, scalable solution that restored uptime and reliability.
