A StarWind Software Case Study
Accu-Tec, a Kentucky-based contract packaging and 3PL provider for the foodservice and beverage industry, was burdened by a legacy ESXi cluster backed by an expensive Xiotech SAN. High acquisition and maintenance costs, the need for dual SANs to achieve redundancy, and poor vendor support made the existing setup unaffordable and hard to maintain for this SMB.
Accu-Tec deployed StarWind HyperConverged Appliance (HCA), eliminated standalone SANs, and migrated from ESXi to Hyper‑V to cut licensing costs while gaining single-point management, proactive 24/7 support, and full redundancy. The HCA has run two years with no unexpected outages, reduced hardware, power and rack-space needs, and is projected to save about $80,000 over five years; the company is also planning a Virtual Tape Library to further strengthen data protection.
