Synergy is Western Australia’s largest gas and electricity provider serving more than one million customers across the South West Interconnected System (SWIS). Facing fragmented, manual laboratory workflows—multiple spreadsheets and a limited in‑house database—Synergy needed an off‑the‑shelf LIMS to automate routine test scheduling, enable direct instrument result capture, reduce manual data entry and consolidate chemical data for reporting and troubleshooting. STARLIMS was selected as the vendor and LIMS platform.

STARLIMS implemented a centralized LIMS that integrates with analytical instruments and Synergy’s data historian, automates scheduling, captures results and audit trails in real time, and allows combined online‑process and lab data trending. The solution reduced paperwork and transcription errors, improved traceability and decision‑making, and delivered measurable efficiency gains (about five man‑hours saved per technician per week), while providing secure, auditable records and faster troubleshooting — all delivered by STARLIMS.
