Starlims Solution Helps Precision Diagnostics Achieve Compliance and Retain Customers

Precision Diagnostics, a San Diego–based drug testing firm offering saliva and urine toxicology services, faced an inflexible legacy LIMS that couldn’t interface with common EMRs, struggled with data integrity and compliance, and contributed to physician burnout and workflow bottlenecks. To address these challenges, Precision Diagnostics deployed the STARLIMS Cloud platform (including its SDMS and analytics capabilities) to improve secure data access, EMR integration and regulatory compliance.

STARLIMS delivered a configurable, HIPAA‑compliant cloud LIMS with intuitive dashboards, real‑time analytics, EMR interfaces and automated sample/workflow management; as a result Precision Diagnostics increased throughput from about 600 tests per day to 1,500–1,700 tests per day (nearly threefold), reduced average turnaround time from ~28 to 26 hours (≈7% reduction), and cut manual searching and oversight through alerts, retesting and easier data access. STARLIMS continues to support end‑to‑end operations from cloud security to instrument integration and customer reporting.
