Starlims Solution Helps Linasa Manage Large Amounts of Data Generated in the Laborator

Linasa, a family-run European manufacturer of laundry, household and personal care products, faced the need to replace an aging PARADOX system with a modern, scalable laboratory system to support growth, speed up sample login, increase annual sample capacity, and better inform analysts of tasks. Since 2009 they have partnered with STARLIMS, implementing its web-based LIMS (Microsoft .NET front end with a SQL Server database) to address these challenges.

STARLIMS delivered grouped test plans, well-defined workflows, alerts, resource planning and integrations with production and safety-data systems to streamline sample management and traceability. As a result STARLIMS helped Linasa cut sample login time by 95%, reduce login errors by 90%, increase lab throughput to 40,000 samples per year (about 5 tests per sample) with a 30% rise in samples processed, speed data access by 60%, improve packaging-materials management time by 80%, and realize ~20% database growth and a 50% efficiency gain from alerts and planning.
