SERNAGEOMIN - Customer Case Study

The National Geology and Mining Service Laboratory of Chile (SERNAGEOMIN) faced growing workloads, faster turnaround demands and a need for strict data integrity, sample traceability and better materials control. To address these challenges SERNAGEOMIN implemented STARLIMS’ Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to modernize workflows and replace manual, paper-based processes.

STARLIMS deployed a fully web‑based LIMS across chemistry, isotope geology, mineralogy and support units, centralizing data, automating sample registration and chain-of-custody, integrating with corporate databases and managing inventory and reagents. As a result STARLIMS reduced manual paperwork and administrative/audit preparation time, sped delivery of results and certificates through alerts and automated comparisons, enabled automatic generation of validated reports and increased the lab’s capacity and operational efficiency.
