Sasol Embarks on Journey to Digitalize Laboratory Operations with STARLIMS

Sasol, a global chemicals company, faced fragmented, paper-based laboratory records and rapidly growing data volumes after opening a new Nanjing lab in 2018. To digitalize quality management, improve data traceability and integrate with its existing MES, Sasol selected the STARLIMS R&D/Quality Manufacturing Informatics Platform.

STARLIMS delivered an integrated informatics solution that standardized data management, connected to Sasol’s MES, and automated key workflows (including color‑coded Certificate of Analysis generation and automated qualification-status updates). As a result, STARLIMS helped Sasol streamline lab processes, reduce manual effort and analytical data input errors, improve regulatory traceability, and optimize sample storage and inventory management.
