How Bayer’s Transforming Global Crop Protection Laboratory Operations

Bayer AG’s Crop Protection regulatory and GxP laboratories faced fragmented, outdated lab systems across multiple sites that made centralized oversight, compliance and automated residue, equipment and inventory management difficult. To solve this, Bayer selected STARLIMS and implemented its laboratory information management system (LIMS) and Laboratory Execution System (LES) to consolidate global lab data and standardize workflows.

STARLIMS delivered a configurable, centrally managed LIMS/LES with mobile execution, white‑glove professional services and Train‑the‑Trainer support, enabling automated data capture, robust audit trails and GLP‑compliant documentation. Over a 14‑year partnership Bayer expanded STARLIMS’ footprint across Europe, Australia, North and South America, streamlined global compliance, improved equipment oversight and prepared for an upgrade to STARLIMS v12.3 (HTML5 cloud) to advance digitalization.
