Bayer Crop Science’s Global Formulation Technology group needed to replace an aging, unsupported lab data system used across multiple sites. After evaluating vendors, Bayer Crop Science enlisted STARLIMS to implement a single LIMS to centralize data, streamline formulation and laboratory activities, and provide the flexibility and usability required by global teams.

STARLIMS carried out a gap analysis and delivered the LIMS in phased, agile implementations with user testing, a Train-the-Trainer program (10 key users), and rollout across Germany, the US and Japan. The STARLIMS solution improved traceability, significantly reduced input errors, increased maintainability and user acceptance, and gave Bayer Crop Science better control over data entry—outcomes Bayer says met and exceeded expectations.
