Michiana SHRM, a long‑standing affiliate of the Society for Human Resource Management, set out to boost member engagement, become a 100% SHRM‑affiliated chapter and modernize its programming after decades of routine events. The chapter needed better tools to manage members, events and finances while diversifying offerings to attract new members and provide more value to its community.

By moving to the StarChapter platform and working closely with HR Indiana, Michiana SHRM streamlined membership management, event registration and billing, and began offering a wider mix of programming (leadership summits, webinars and a Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging Summit). The switch delivered clear results: membership grew by more than 25 members, event finances are easier to manage, operations run more smoothly, and the chapter has become a model for other Indiana chapters.
