Automotive Women’s Alliance Foundation (AWAF) is a non‑profit that advances women in the automotive industry by funding scholarships and programming; to date they’ve awarded 139 scholarships totaling $344,500. AWAF faced the twin challenges of engaging and retaining members with meaningful programs and improving their online presence so scholarship applicants, sponsors and members could find information and apply more easily.

AWAF moved to the StarChapter platform and paired the new website with enhanced member programs—mentorship, coaching, committee/buddy engagement and targeted events like their annual Swinging “Fore” Scholarships golf outing. The result: positive user feedback about an easier site and application process, smoother communication with stakeholders, a record golf event that awarded $35,000 to 14 recipients, and stronger member engagement as they approach $350,000 awarded overall.
