doxo, a financial services innovator helping more than 6 million people manage bill payments and financial health, was struggling to query data spread across many systems, including Redshift, MySQL, Snowflake, Hive, and Amazon S3. Its BI and analytics teams needed a simpler way to combine distributed data without relying on complex ETL processes or slow, manual data wrangling.

doxo implemented Starburst Data’s Starburst Enterprise on AWS EKS, using Trino as a federated query layer and logical data warehouse across its data sources. With Starburst Data, doxo eliminated nightly database-copy jobs, accelerated analytics, enabled faster reconciliation, and improved agility by letting users query data without knowing where it lives; the company also reported that month-end close now happens about six hours into the new month.
