Emis’ New Emis-x Analytics Platform Delivers Secure Scalable and Cost-effective Analytics With Starburst Enterprise

EMIS Health, one of the UK’s largest electronic health record software providers, needed a secure, scalable, high-performance, and cost-effective way to make healthcare data and analytics available to providers and researchers. With Starburst Data, EMIS Health created EMIS-X Analytics, enabling near real-time analysis of millions of NHS records and data across thousands of GP practices. The solution supports secure querying of Delta Lake data, fast access to insights, and analysis across primary and secondary care data, helping researchers and clinicians move from weeks of data copying and analysis to almost real-time results. EMIS Health also reported lower infrastructure costs without compromising performance, improved time to insight, and the ability to support very large queries over hundreds of billions of rows.
