St. Joseph’s Hospital Improves Safety and Regulatory Compliance Using Wi-Fi-Based Environmental Monitoring

St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center, a 431-bed hospital in New York, faced the challenge of manually monitoring temperatures for 310 refrigerators containing critical items like pharmaceuticals and lab samples. This labor-intensive process, required for regulatory compliance and patient safety, took valuable time away from clinicians. STANLEY Healthcare partnered with the hospital to deploy its AeroScout Environmental Monitoring solution to automate this process.

The solution utilized Wi-Fi-based AeroScout T5 Temperature Sensor Tags and MobileView software on the hospital's existing wireless network. This system provides constant monitoring, automatic alerts, and detailed logging. The results included improved regulatory compliance, reduced spoilage, and a significant increase in time for patient care as staff were freed from manual checks. STANLEY Healthcare's implementation provided a strong return on investment by leveraging the existing IT infrastructure.
