Belgian Hospital Uses STANLEY Healthcare Visibility Solutions to Prevent Patient Elopements and Automate Temperature Monitoring

AZ Monica, a hospital in Belgium with two campuses and 477 beds, faced the dual challenge of preventing patient elopement with an outdated, expensive system and transitioning from a time-consuming manual process for monitoring temperatures in critical refrigerators and rooms. To address this, the hospital turned to STANLEY Healthcare for a comprehensive solution.

STANLEY Healthcare implemented its AeroScout MobileView Real-Time Location System (RTLS) to manage both patient security and environmental monitoring. The results were significant: the hospital has experienced zero patient elopements since the 2012 implementation, eliminating the 8-10 hours previously spent per incident. The automated temperature monitoring also eradicated spoilage losses and drastically reduced staff time spent on manual checks, all while enhancing audit readiness for accreditation.
