STANLEY Security Makes the Playoffs With Its Surveillance System at ‘The Cell’

U.S. Cellular Field (home of the Chicago White Sox) was operating on a severely outdated analog surveillance system—installed in 2001 with just 31 PTZ cameras—that left large areas unmonitored and the stadium vulnerable. U.S. Cellular engaged Stanley Convergent Security Solutions, Inc to evaluate and, ultimately, redesign the security infrastructure; the solution called for an engineered LAN, HD cameras from Axis/Arecont/Genetec, a Genetec video management system and the STANLEY Commander PSIM among other services.

Stanley Convergent Security Solutions, Inc rebuilt the command center, installed a wireless-mesh perimeter, and replaced the legacy system with more than 300 HD and LPR cameras (about a 10× increase), preprogrammed by the STANLEY CCE and integrated with Genetec VMS and STANLEY Commander. Completed on March 12, 2012—over a month ahead of the home opener—the upgrade enabled end-to-end tracking of persons of interest, faster forensic review, solved thefts, reduced smoking incidents, improved traffic/parking management and materially enhanced fan and staff safety.
