Heraeus, a global technology group with 14,900 employees across more than 100 locations in 40 countries, needed a better way to communicate with a highly diverse workforce. Its internal communications team had to reach office, production, logistics, and lab employees in multiple languages and cultural contexts, while replacing an aging SharePoint intranet and employee newspaper. Staffbase provided the modern intranet platform used to solve this challenge.

With Staffbase’s mobile-first intranet, Heraeus created a personalized digital hub that works on desktop and as a mobile app, giving all employees access to relevant content, tools, and company news. The rollout delivered 10,000 active users, 40,000 likes and more than 5,000 comments, and 7 million homepage views in the first six months. It also saved more than €125,000 annually by discontinuing the employee newspaper and retiring the old SharePoint system.
