An Employee App for Restaurant and Hospitality Success

Newport Harbor Corporation (NHC), a Rhode Island restaurant and hospitality group with more than 14 locations, needed a better way to reach its largely frontline, non-desk workforce. As an employee-owned company focused on culture, training, and internal alignment, NHC struggled to get timely information into employees’ hands using newsletters, posters, emails, and texts. It turned to Staffbase and its employee app platform to create a mobile-first communication channel.

Staffbase helped NHC launch NHC GO, an employee app that put updates, resources, and company news directly on employees’ phones. Within three months, more than half of NHC’s 1,150 employees had signed in, and most were checking the app at least twice a week. The app improved direct communication, supported culture-building and employee recognition, and set the stage for future operational features, giving Staffbase a strong role in NHC’s internal communications strategy.
