Dimension Data, a global enterprise services provider, needed a better way to drive digital transformation and automate complex infrastructure and operations across its cloud and Microsoft environments. The company wanted to replace legacy orchestration tools, improve collaboration between teams, and respond faster to day-to-day and security events using DevOps and event-driven automation.

Using StackStorm, Dimension Data built integrations and custom packs for its cloud platform to automate tasks such as VM and VLAN creation, server start/stop, ACL updates, operating system configuration, and security scans. StackStorm became the “glue” between newer DevOps tools and traditional OSS/BSS systems, helping Dimension Data deliver workflows for customers and internal teams, including an operations dashboard for managing Microsoft applications for 50,000+ end users per client.
