Social Media Follows Old Glory Across America

Team RWB, a nonprofit connecting veterans to their communities, ran its second annual coast-to-coast Old Glory Relay to spotlight the “Faces of Old Glory” and the diverse stories of veterans. The organization needed a better way to aggregate and curate photos and videos from multiple social networks to amplify participant stories, promote events along the 3,540-mile relay and drive fundraising, registration, and new memberships.

By using Stackla’s visual UGC hub and promoting the #OldGloryRelay hashtag with sponsor support, press kits, and on-course activations, Team RWB centralized thousands of social posts and showcased authentic participant stories. The campaign helped raise $436,000, welcomed 10,118 new members (a 19% YoY increase), captured 4,200+ user-generated photos and videos, drove a 65% increase in website traffic and 94% more pageviews, generated a potential media reach of ~950M impressions and produced several viral moments (including one photo that reached 19M people).
