ONE Stands #WithStrongGirls to Spread the Message: Poverty is Sexist

ONE, co‑founded by Bono of U2, is an international advocacy organization of more than seven million members working to end extreme poverty and preventable disease. In 2015 it launched the “Poverty is Sexist” campaign to highlight how poverty disproportionately affects women and girls and asked supporters worldwide to post #Strengthie and #WithStrongGirls images — creating the challenge of aggregating and curating that global social content into one coherent, impactful voice for world leaders.

Stackla supplied the technology to aggregate and curate the hashtagged posts into a social hub, collecting more than 5,700 photos (including posts from Malala Yousafzai and Mary J. Blige). That content was projected onto Manhattan’s Hudson Hotel during the UN General Assembly, thousands of posts were displayed, and the names of over 1 million petition signers were handed to UN Secretary‑General Ban Ki‑moon — dramatically amplifying the campaign’s reach and ensuring supporters’ voices were seen by global leaders.
