Canon Australia Engages & Inspires Photographers With User-Generated Content

Canon Australia, a leader in imaging, shifted in 2014 from a basic social presence to a strategy centered on customer storytelling and advocacy. The team wanted to put post-purchase experiences front and centre, but needed a platform that could discover, curate, secure rights to and display high-quality user-generated content in real time and integrate seamlessly with their Sitecore web platform.

They implemented Stackla to power Canon Collective, Vivid Sydney live screens and interactive maps, competitions, and the 30-day LEAP Challenge, using GoConnect forms and rights management to scale quickly. The result: UGC now makes up 80% of Canon Australia’s shared content, Instagram grew to over 300K followers (about +100K per year), LEAP gained 10K followers in under a month, deployments that once would take weeks now take days, and UGC is becoming an “always on” part of their marketing and product pages.
