Switching to Retrace APM Saves Carbonite’s Development Team Valuable Time

Carbonite, a leading provider of backup, recovery and archiving solutions, needed a way to centralize detailed log and error information from apps spread across Azure and private data centers so their dev team could quickly resolve issues. They turned to Stackify and its Retrace APM product to replace disparate event logs, local files and email alerts with a single, application-centric view.

Stackify implemented Retrace to combine APM, log/error management and alerting in one portal with simple installation and auto-discovery. As a result Carbonite’s team saves at least an hour a day, identified a memory leak within 45 minutes of installation, and used a Retrace alert to pinpoint and fix a server memory issue in 20 minutes — all while avoiding the need to add tens or hundreds of extra log statements.
