Box boosts knowledge sharing with Stack Overflow as 650 users post 900 answers

Box, a cloud content management company with around 2000 employees, faced a significant challenge with knowledge sharing and searchability across its engineering teams. Critical institutional knowledge was trapped in employees' heads or scattered across various platforms like Confluence and Google Docs, creating a bottleneck for engineering support and hindering productivity. This led to overwhelming interruptions for engineers via Slack and email.

To solve this, Box implemented Stack Overflow for Teams (also referred to as Stack Internal). This solution provided a centralized Q&A platform that improved collaboration through features like tagging and Slack integration. The results were substantial: 650 users provided over 900 answers, which were searched more than 4,000 times. Stack Overflow eliminated the support bottleneck, reduced context switching for engineers, and created a scalable, searchable knowledge base that boosted productivity across the organization.
