The customer, Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII), faced the challenge of slow and inaccurate cost management processes during ship design and building. SSI implemented its EnterprisePlatform to automatically gather, format, and provide transparent information from ShipConstructor's data model to CostFact. This solution allowed HII to base initial cost estimations on existing designs and efficiently adapt to project changes to capture cost deviations early. The results achieved included accurate cost estimates, early identification of cost issues, consistency of information, and streamlined change management.
