WFL Millturn Technologies GmbH & Co. KG, a manufacturer of multifunctional millturn machines, faced a significant space constraint and declining picking performance in its warehouse, which stored approximately 30,000 active items. To address this challenge, the company partnered with vendor SSI Schaefer to implement an automated storage solution using SSI LOGIMAT vertical lift modules.

SSI Schaefer integrated six vertical lift modules directly into WFL's existing SAP system, eliminating the need for additional software. This solution, which included new storage bins and a reorganization of parts, freed up 110 m² of floor space and increased picking performance by up to 50%. The scalable system from SSI Schaefer also introduced more ergonomic work processes and batch picking for handling multiple orders in parallel.
