Schaeffler, an automotive and industrial supplier, commissioned SSI SCHAEFER as the general contractor to develop one of Europe's most innovative distribution centers. Their goal was to move from preventive maintenance to a more intelligent, condition-based system for their new European Distribution Center in Kitzingen, Germany.

SSI SCHAEFER implemented a comprehensive intralogistics solution featuring a high-bay warehouse, a miniload system, and an electric rail-guided vehicle system. Crucially, they co-developed the "Maintenance 4.0 for Intralogistics" concept with Schaeffler, which uses condition monitoring and semi-automated maintenance. This partnership resulted in a highly dynamic and efficient distribution center, ensuring maximum goods availability for Schaeffler's industrial customers across Europe.
