Klingspor, a major manufacturer of grinding tools, faced a challenge with its manual warehouse processes that could not keep up with increasing order volumes and annual growth. Limited by space at its Haiger site, the company needed a solution to optimize logistics, eliminate unproductive work, and guarantee 24-hour order turnaround to remain competitive. SSI SCHAEFER was selected to implement a creative, automated warehousing solution.

SSI SCHAEFER implemented a fully automated system based on its 3D-MATRIX Solution®, combining a shuttle system for bins and a high bay pallet warehouse spread over three interconnected levels. The solution included SSI Navette shuttles and lifts, storage-retrieval machines, and SAP EWM software. This highly efficient system provided over 36,000 bin and 13,400 pallet storage locations, ensuring short delivery times, zero picking errors, and a high-performance operation perfectly suited to handle Klingspor's future growth.
