Draper Tools, a British family-owned business selling over 11,000 hand and power tools, faced logistics challenges due to its growing product range and needed to improve processes and reduce shipping times. They partnered with intralogistics vendor SSI SCHAEFER to implement a semi-automated warehouse solution that included flow racks, pick-by-light technology, shelving systems, and container conveyor technology.

SSI SCHAEFER implemented a goods-to-person system with 21 pick-by-light stations and bin conveyor technology over three levels. This solution significantly increased picking and packing speed, allowing Draper Tools to handle up to 25,000 units per day while virtually eliminating picking errors. Within six months, the goals of better performance and higher customer satisfaction were achieved, and the scalable system from SSI SCHAEFER has equipped the company for future growth.
